Dr. Nathu Ram Sarker did his B.Sc. A.H. (Hons’) and M.Sc. (A.H.) from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymemsingh with Ist class 2nd position and Ist class respectively, and also got his Ph.D. with the specialization of Animal Nutrition & Feed Technology from Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar, India through Indian Commonwealth Scholarship under the Indian Council of Cultural Relation (ICCR) program.

He started his carrier as a Lecturer under the Department of Animal Husbandry in the Hajee Danesh Agriculture College, Basherhat, Dinajpur presently known as Hajee Danesh Sciences & Technology University. Dr. Sarker left the college and joined as a Scientific Officer in the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute, Savar, Dhaka and served more than 33 years under different capacities in the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute, Savar, Dhaka-1341.

Recently, he retired as Director General from his service. Dr. Sarker has vast working experiences in the various fields of livestock Research & Development (R&D) with public, private sector organizations and NGOs both in national & international levels and associated many national and international professional organizations such as WPSA, KIB, BAHA, BSAPER, ANSI, etc. He supervised more than 10 Ph.D. and 10 M.S. students under the public universities of Bangladesh. Dr Sarker has more than 120 research articles published in the National & International journals and more two hundreds (200) seminar papers in his credit. In addition, Dr. Sarker has more than 12 Policy Papers on sector analysis and R&D (related livestock and poultry development) of Bangladesh in his credit. He has been working as a group member of Research & Education under Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock (GASL) since 2016 and Country Focal point of Global Research Alliance (GRA) on livestock. Dr. Sarker has been working as external an examiner and expert member of board studies in different agricultural universities of Bangladesh. He also supervised post-doctoral research student under Banghabandhu Fellowship in the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute, Savar, Dhaka-1341, Bangladesh.
